IT & business strategy
A Bitcoin exchange on my own trading engine, 100,000 trades a second. Ready at the time of Bitstamp, it would have been Europe’s first. Then the Luxembourg regulator told us we were not allowed to run it. Today it is my conduit for IT and business strategy.
Investment vehicle
AlantorA blockchain investment vehicle with €2M committed. Days before the capital call, the bank closed our account under pressure from the regulator, though the vehicle was unregulated. We tried again with Bank Frick in Liechtenstein, but the market had turned and we ran out of funding.
Crypto foundation
AlvalorA new blockchain with its own consensus and state channels. Banks that had welcomed crypto suddenly refused accounts to new projects. A few weeks after we shut down our foundation, the canton of Zug gave clear guidance for foundations doing token sales.
Software agency
Funded by Roham Gharegozlou’s Baller Ventures; he founded Axiom Zen and Dapper Labs, behind Flow. We built Flow DPS and the Rosetta API behind Coinbase’s integration of Flow, then node software for Flare. Today it builds Optakt One.
Longevity club
Lisbon’s first longevity club, in Príncipe Real: sauna, cold plunge, red light, float tanks, hyperbaric oxygen. My concept, from an empty space to a working venue. After months of permit and building delays, cash flow neutral within four months of opening.
Conference
Two days at Pavilhão Carlos Lopes in May 2025, from health science to spirituality. More than 800 people, 42 speakers on two stages, 47 talks and workshops, 24 exhibitors, a VIP dinner and an incredible closing party. Eight of the ten exhibitors we surveyed said it was worth it. Next: 4–5 June 2027.
