  1. Optakt Labs
    2026 – now

    Optakt One

    Optakt Labs

One agent with persistent awareness of your whole world. My own memory search and compaction algorithms, a knowledge base split into living memory and a dated archive, and staged compression that keeps months of conversation in reach. One binary with a Go core under 100,000 lines: self-hosted, local, or multi-tenant in the cloud, with chat in Telegram, Slack and Discord, a TUI and an RPC protocol. Thirteen US provisional patent applications.

    Go · PostgreSQL · RPC
  2. Optakt Labs, for Flare Foundation
    2021 – 2022

    Flare node

    Optakt Labs, for Flare Foundation

Lead distributed systems engineer on the node software of the Flare network, a fork of Avalanche and, through it, of go-ethereum. Refactored the legacy node and set up its CI/CD, converted Snowman consensus to a federated construction, integrated the decentralised oracle system into consensus, and upgraded the node to the latest network and consensus protocols.

    Go · Avalanche · EVM · Solidity
  3. Optakt Labs, for Dapper Labs
    2021 – 2022

    Flow DPS

    Optakt Labs, for Dapper Labs

The data provisioning service that indexes Flow’s full execution state history, with Merkle tries and cryptographic proofs over BadgerDB and Ristretto caching. It became the foundation of Flow’s history nodes, and carried the Rosetta API for Coinbase’s integration of Flow. Built with a team of three: 35,000 lines of Go, over 90% test coverage.

Go · BadgerDB · Ristretto · Merkle tries · Rosetta
  4. DEA, Luxembourg
    2020 – 2023

    Smart Water Network

    DEA, Luxembourg

IoT for the water utility of 28 municipalities in northern Luxembourg: about 75,000 people and 466 km of pipeline. Raspberry Pi gateways polling Modbus TCP/RTU and SNMP sensors over 5G, a collection agent, an ingestion pipeline into InfluxDB, and a real-time dashboard. Part of Luxembourg’s national 5G programme.

    Go · Modbus · SNMP · 5G · InfluxDB · React
  5. Dapper Labs
    2019 – 2021

    Flow consensus node

    Dapper Labs

80% of the consensus node’s code when Flow went into public beta: the application framework, the compliance engine, the protocol state with its caching layer, composable for transactions, the storage layer, the integration of HotStuff BFT consensus with my own implementation, block sealing and node synchronisation. The first peer-to-peer layer was my own library, Trickle, later replaced by libp2p. Flow is the blockchain behind NBA Top Shot.

    Go · BadgerDB · HotStuff · libp2p
  6. Alvalor
    2017 – 2018

    Alvalor

    Alvalor

An early layer-2 blockchain prototype, before the term existed. Merkle trie state storage, HotStuff consensus and a custom peer-to-peer network, all my own code.

    Go · Merkle trie · HotStuff · P2P
  7. Etix Everywhere
    2016 – 2017

    DCIM

    Etix Everywhere

The backend of a data center infrastructure management system for a modular data center operator, later largely acquired by Vantage Data Centers. Real-time monitoring and control of every machine: microservices, APIs, a time-series storage pipeline, service discovery, orchestration and authentication, and I introduced CI/CD.

    Go · GraphQL · nanomsg · Cap’n Proto · Cassandra · InfluxDB · Redis
  8. Open source
    2016

    Ethereum

    Open source

Native Go contract bindings with event subscriptions for go-ethereum, credited in its stable API. And a market maker for MakerDAO’s OasisDEX that matched overlapping orders automatically.

    Go · Solidity · EVM
  9. POST Luxembourg, through REBORN
    2015 – 2016

    POST Control Center

    POST Luxembourg, through REBORN

Real-time processing of POST Luxembourg’s B2B telecom metadata: every connected device, from mobiles to PCs, of most major Luxembourg companies, with live statistics across calls, SMS and MMS. The data collection daemons, the backend processing and its integration into the PHP frontend.

    Go · MongoDB · Docker · PHP
  10. CIRCL
    2015

    PBTC

    CIRCL

A passive Bitcoin node for Luxembourg’s national CERT, custom built on btcd. It streamed every network message and made it searchable in real time, to triangulate where ransomware payments came from.

    Go · btcd · ZeroMQ
  11. Binar Luxembourg
    2014 – 2015

    Ogardonix

    Binar Luxembourg

A custom game network protocol, a networking plugin for Unity3D and the game server, turning Binar’s single-player RPG into an MMORPG. My bachelor thesis.

    C# · C++ · D · Unity3D · protobuf
  12. Nexunity
    2013

    Trading engine

    Nexunity

The matching engine for what would have been Europe’s first crypto exchange, in Bitstamp’s time: 100k trades per second with skip lists. With microservices for blockchain access and a private cloud around it. Stopped by the regulator.

    C++ · Python · Go
  13. 2012

    Physics engine

    Hobby project

A physics engine with collision detection on hierarchical hash grids, which scales close to linearly with the number of bodies.

  14. National Supercomputer Centre, Linköping
    2009

    Particle simulation

    National Supercomputer Centre, Linköping

A real-time, realistic 3D particle simulation engine, executed massively parallel on Neolith, Sweden’s national supercomputer.
